Rabbi Mario Rojzman was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1962. In 1985, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Jewish Philosophy and Education
at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1987, he received his Rabbinical
Ordination from the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary, Buenos Aires In
1988, he obtained a Masters in Education from the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem (Cum Laude). In 1990 he was named Rabbi at Bet El Community
of Buenos Aires, a pioneer in Latin American Conservative Judaism where
he served for 11 years. In 1991, during the Gulf War, Rabbi Rojzman was
invited by the World Zionist Organization to be one of the founders of
Mercaz Olami, the Zionist Arm of the Conservative Movement and became
Worldwide Vice President for five years. From 1997 to 2000 he headed
Comparative Religion Studies at the University of Palermo, in Buenos Aires.
An honorary visitor at several Latin American Universities and visiting professor at New York University
(2000) Rabbi Rojzman has joined other Rabbis to champion the defense of human rights. He has been
distinguished with awards from various organizations for his pastoral work. He has been invited by
the UNESCO the Inter American Development Bank, and the World Bank as a speaker on topics such
as poverty human rights and inter cultural dialogue. He founded and headed the NGO Inter-religious
Center for Social Responsibility. His activism on interreligious affairs took him to trips to Jerusalem
and Rome, where he had the chance to meet with Pope John Paul II in 1998 and Pope Benedict XVI in
2007. For two years he co-hosted a TV Show with Bishop Justo Laguna, with whom he co-wrote the
book “All Roads Lead to Jerusalem . . . and also to Rome,” both in English and Spanish. He is married
to Gisela Ludman a lawyer and family therapist and together they have 5 children Henri, Sarit, Igal,
Daniela and Annie. The Rojzman Family moved to Miami, Florida in 2002. He has been a Rabbi at
Beth Torah – Benny Rok Campus since 2003.
